I'm a big ol' nerd who loves to learn.

When I think back, in all my jobs, even the early just-out-of-school crappy ones, I weaselled my way into doing some type of marketing. I’d say, “Oh, well, I think we should change the order of these pages in the catalogue because customers always ask me about these items.” (YEAH, a catalogue, I’m old.) Or, “Here’s something I wrote for our website, do you like it?”

None of those things were my job. But I quickly realized that having passion for something means you’ll always find a way to do it, even if it isn’t your job.

Now, I’m thrilled that my passion and my job are the same thing:

Helping B2B tech and SaaS companies strategically communicate their message simply and effectively to drive sales, brand awareness and… well, overall awesomeness.

The Short Version
Ex-Agency Copywriter + Strategist

I’ve worked for several agencies in a full-time and freelance capacity since 2013, working as a copywriter, brand strategist and digital project manager. Since 2018, I’ve been running my own show. My unique ability to blend creative copy with strategy for B2B tech companies has proven an effective weapon for standing out in a crowded market.

Basically? I love tech. I’m a nerd. I love to take something apart just to see how it works. I love to interview your customers to find out what makes them tick, what made them click “buy.” I genuinely enjoy what I do.

Writing Since the Womb

From as far back as I can remember, I’ve been writing and reading over 1,000 words a day. (I’m in the top 1% of all Pocket users, after all.) Even emails are fun. I like to think of them as a word party in a box. And, I’ve been blogging online since 2002. Yeah, I’m an old millennial.

SEO n' Shiz

I love the techy aspect of marketing, too. I make sure to stay up to date on SEO trends, algorithm updates, and the latest in shopping behaviours, e-commerce advancements and everything about the psychology of today’s consumer. Not even because it’s helpful for my work, but because I’m a NERD.

Tech Experience? Check.

I have extensive experience writing for and about SaaS/tech companies, venture capital, startups, etc. I understand the market and the goals of product and growth marketing. Notable clients include Neil Patel and Sleeknote.

Why I Do What I Do

To me, the best thing about marketing is that it never stands still. Things are always changing, people are always changing, and marketers and writers need to change with the times. I love the never-ending experiment of finding out what makes people tick, and writing copy to influence that.

Random Facts

I drink a literal shit tonne of coffee (yes, literally). I’m a night owl. I’m a mom to twin boys with disabilities and health issues, and had to become a freelancer to meet their care needs. They’re amazing, btw. I have a dog who pretends to limp sometimes (never around my husband) in an effort to gain my doting and/or extra treats. I keep trying to do Couch to 5K but it ends up as just couch. I like wine. I have trained in falconry. I managed a Starbucks, which taught me all I ever needed to know about people. I can be stubborn. My favourite work thing is when a client is so happy, they ugly cry all over the place.

5 (7) years and 20lbs (30) ago. But hey, the last thing we marketers focus on is our own marketing, right?
